Dr. William D. Troutt has over a decade of practical experience in naturopathic medicine and cannabis education. After graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Arizona State University, He earned a medical degree from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dr. Troutt was Arizona’s first Medical Director of a state-licensed medical marijuana dispensary and currently serves as the Medical Director for multiple Arizona dispensaries. He also provides Director of Medical Education services for dispensaries nationwide. As such, Dr. Troutt has developed medical protocols, patient education and tracking materials. Dr. Troutt
provides initial and recurring cannabis training to dispensary employees, conducts patient and community education events, and provides onsite and on call services to dispensaries.
In collaboration with another researcher, Dr. Troutt founded the Medical Marijuana Research Institute, an organization dedicated to conducting and publishing original research on the potential therapeutic effects of medical
cannabis. He also volunteers as the Executive Director of Harvesting Hope, a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit organization that serves pediatric patients, including those with severe and debilitating epilepsy.
Trained in the extraction of medicines from plants, including the extraction of cannabinoids from the cannabis plant, as well as in the creation of edible and other infused cannabis products, Dr. Troutt founded Arizona Naturopathic Medical Services. He offers education materials, seminars, and consultations to patients, dispensaries, cultivation facilities, infusion kitchens, and healthcare professionals. To date, Dr. Troutt has consulted with and presented to thousands of medical cannabis patients, top physicians, researchers, public servants and industry leaders on a wide array of medical cannabis issues.
